Xiaomi multifunctional EV charger
This is a project that I was heavily involved in during my internship at Xiaomi. I contributed from early ideation all the way through to design lock, working on the development of a portable EV charger designed for both urban and rural environments. My role extended beyond initial brainstorming to include design refinement, user experience optimization, and preparation for pre-manufacturing requirements.

Working closely with fellow designers and engineers, I learned to navigate real-world design constraints such as internal component integration and structural safety. These cross-functional collaborations deepened my understanding of how to balance industrial design with engineering feasibility.

I also conducted in-depth market research to evaluate existing products and identify user needs, which informed design decisions related to portability, plug-and-play usability, and physical interaction — such as grip, outlet accessibility, and detachment mechanisms. This hands-on focus helped ensure the product was not only functional but also intuitive and comfortable to use in varied settings.

The project provided me with end-to-end experience in a fast-paced development environment and reinforced the importance of collaboration, physical usability, and market alignment in product design.
